I’m Rod Spires, and at my core I’m a family‑centered person. The life my wife and I have built, and the generations it’s grown into, are what ground me. But over almost four decades in leadership — including more than twenty years living and working in the Philippines — I made career decisions that kept me thousands of miles away from the people who mattered most. I own those choices. They helped me grow, they shaped my career, and they opened doors I’m grateful for. But they also came with real trade‑offs, and it took time and distance to see just how much I had been putting other people’s priorities ahead of my own.
My career spanned the Air Force, senior executive roles in Customer Success, global operations, and business development. I led teams through high‑pressure environments, major transformations, and situations where everything was shifting at once. And through all of it, I learned that even strong leaders can find themselves living a life driven more by circumstance than intention.
Eventually, I reached a point where I knew something had to change. Moving back home was the first step — a conscious decision to realign my life with what mattered most. I wanted work that supported my relationships instead of competing with them. I wanted clarity, balance, and a future built around my values rather than someone else’s agenda. That search for a better path is what led me to The Entrepreneur’s Source.
As a Career Ownership Coach, I get to combine everything I’ve learned — leadership, clarity, empathy, and strategic thinking — to help people discover options they didn’t even know existed. I help them shift from reacting to circumstances to intentionally shaping their future. And I do it in a way that’s calm, direct, and grounded in real life, because I’ve lived the ups and downs myself.
I joined TES because I believe people deserve more than a job search. They deserve a future they can actually own — one that supports the life they want, not one that pulls them away from it. And I’m here to help them find it.
